*Crickets Chirping on this LJ*

I have no interest in my dolls lately. I'm not worried about this because when I contemplated selling a few I realized really quick that there's no way I could sell any of my current collection. So I can only assume I just need a bit of a break and the dolly love will return in time. It happens, but it's one reason I'm being a little quiet around here.

It doesn't help that I made my first doll clothing purchase it quite a while a few weeks ago and I was excited to get something new...and it finally came today with a HOLE IN IT! :( I bought it off Etsy and I know that handmade stuff isn't perfect, but a hole? Come on...that's not acceptable. I already wrote the seller and provided a photo, we'll see what she said. But my excitement about it is now down the drain. I won't being doing the photos I was so looking forward to until this issue is resolved.

It's been seven months since a bought a doll even. I wonder if getting my ultimate grail (my Lati yellow winter tan Lami, the last doll I bought) kind of ended up putting a damper on my enthusiasm for the doll hunt? I don't know...but I kind of wonder. I sort of have an idea of what dolls I would would like to buy next, I'm just not excited enough yet to actually do it. :P

I feel kinda bad because I haven't done anything online with my dolls in ages, but I've just been so busy with work and stuff...:/ But I still love my dollies. I'm hoping I can do something with them in the future, but I can totally relate to needing a little break.

I love my dollies, too! It's not so bad to need or to take a break from it though. ;)

It might just be that how you interact with them has changed. You did make a very large change last year when you stopped the HoP stories, even though you still tell bits and pieces as and when you feel it. That you don't want to sell them has to be a good thing in that respect! :) Why not just let your imagination wander for a while, and focus on what you're really wanting to focus on. you'll come back to it when you're ready.

I still don't regret ending the story though, it was just turning into a chore that was too much work. XD I do feel a little dry on photo ideas, every time I think of something I usually realize I've done it before and then lose interest in doing a photo shoot. Taking a break isn't bad, I've been doing other stuff...and that's okay. ;)

I felt that way last semester. I brought my dolls with school with me, but I didn't even bring clothing changes for any of them. And for the last 3 or 4 weeks of school, my dolls were all boxed up and I think I didn't look at them but once or twice. But now that I'm out of school (and it's nice enough outside that I can take pictures again!) I'm really starting to get back into the whole doll thing. I mean, I just took pictures of a doll I hadn't taken pictures of for almost a year and a half! Sheesh!

So basically, the love will come back. It just takes time. And I can't remember who said it to me, but the fact it, the dolls won't hate you for taking some time away. They'll be just as wonderful when you return!

I can definitely relate, though. After I bought the last doll to "complete" my Lati Yellow collection, my interest in the doll hunt certainly waned. There's still a few dolls I wouldn't mind having, but I'm certainly in no rush. Plus, I need to focus on the ones I own. I've got a few tweaks planned for a few of my dolls, and I'd like to get those out of the way before I starting buying more dolls :D

I'm alright with taking a little break. If I get any ideas I'll do them, but I'm not going to stress about it if I can't think of anything. :P

It is great that dolls don't get their feeling hurt if you stay away for a while. ;)

That is bad that it had a hole in it!

I fixed it, but it was annoying to find. When I complained to the seller she seems irritated that I even brought it up, but to her credit she did refund me a few dollars.
