Random Stuff  
During my break from my story I still plan on posting stuff. I was going to take photos today to post but maybe I need a tiny break from that, too? Anyway, I just didn't feel like doing it.

Anyway, I took my kids to Target yesterday and we found a book called (and I kid you not) Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The description on the back cover was hilarious:
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains."
So begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton--and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennett is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she is soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. I find the whole idea of this really hilarious...but maybe I just have a sick sense of humor. Please note, I love Pride and Prejudice and have no problems reading it zombie-free. :P But I'm sorely tempted to try this book out for humor's sake. However, the reviews on Amazon are very mixed. Maybe it's just lucky it has such a funny back book cover description, I don't know. Anyway, I was highly amused. :P

And since this is a doll journal, I do have some random dolly thoughts. I'm totally planning on ordering a PukiFee, but probably not until early August if I'm lucky. Still I'm excited about this and I did already order a wig. :P I'm just getting a basic Ante with a face up...but I don't want her to stay bald long. I'm hoping stuff for Lati Yellow will fit as well as it sounds since I have tons of that already and can easily make more if needed. Anyway, it turns out I have more money in the bank then I thought so I should be able to buy it when I'm done with the swimming lessons and I get paid. Speaking of the lessons, I did the first one today and it actually went really well. He's a very good student. :D

Oh...a question I've been meaning to throw out there and keep forgetting...does anyone know if a basic PukiFee Ante with a face up includes the freckles? There are two different full package Antes available and one has freckles, the other does not. So which face up comes on the basic? The picture for the basic Ante on both the Fairyland website and DDE show the Ante with freckles, but I want to be sure that's what I'm going to get if I order. She must have freckles...(not for any particular reason, I just like freckles) :P

I heard about that from someone on my friends list. I'm interested because I love zombie movies...I haven't read it yet because I heard it's going to be turned into a live action movie :P.

If I try out reading it I'll be sure to post on what I think. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite novels, but I'm not adverse to a zombie-themed spoof. Although, I've heard most of it is Jane Austen's original text with some extra zombie stuff added. Well, I'll think about trying it out.

Ah yes, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies...I got it for my birthday :D I haven't read it yet, though, since I haven't read P&P in eight years and I don't remember that all too well and I'd like to have that on the brain when I delve into the Zombie edition. And did you know that Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters is in the works?

As for whether or not Ante has freckles...I'd just ask DDE. They're totally cool about things like that, and they're bound to know the answer :D

I think I might ask for it for my Birthday...if for nothing else so I can laugh at the back cover (the description is classic!).

I actually looked closer at Fairyland and on the basic Ante page it specifically says the pictures show the default make up, which is the freckled Ante so I think I'm good. I might ask DDE just to make sure anyway since I think I will probably order from there when I'm ready. So excited about that... :D

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is really good~ :3 I'm glad I picked it up.. it's kind of like.. boring.. then zombies! then boring.. then zombies! but now I'm kinda getting into the boring parts too? so.. it's all good? XD; (I never read the real Pride and Prejudice)

Oh, hi Merili! Dang, I haven't seen you in forever. :P

Anyway, heh, the boring parts were probably Jane Austen's original text. Her style takes getting used to. I love P&P so I don't think I'd find it boring. I will probably give it a read just for the heck of it. :P

The swimming lessons are fun, I just don't want too many of my friends to find out I can teach because I don't think I want to be doing this on a regular basis...it's way too easy to get burned out with. But I don't mind taking this one student because he's sweet and his mom (my friend) is like the nicest person ever. :D

I think I might vaguely remember that post...but I don't know. I know I've seen the book before and it amuses me every time. I'm probably going to give it a read, too, just for fun. :P

I also love the artwork for the cover...but then again, I love horror novels and movies, so that kinda thing always gets me, heh. XD

I read about the Pride & Prejudice zombie book on Amazon.com and yeah, the mixed reviews turned me off from it. It's one thing to have a funny gimmick; it's another thing to be able to pull it off and based on what people had to say, I don't think I'd be the type of person to like it very much. :P

This is what I'm worried about, too, that it's just a gimmick but not really anything special. I might try reading it anyway because it's fun and I have a decent sense of humor about things like that. ;) If I don't like it, well, it's no harm done.

I'm pretty sure you can specify which face-up you'd like your PukiFee to have. I've read about someone asking for the 'sweet bunny' style, so I'm sure it would be no problem to get the freckles style. My guess says that the freckles version is the default, though. Also, I think it's cuter, myself. :p

I agree, the freckled Ante is absolutely darling. Plus, I think her eyebrows and lashes are slightly different then the sweet bunny one. Just overall I like the freckle Ante better. I also did some more looking on Fairyland and it does specifically state on the basic Ante page that the photos show the default face up...the Ante with freckles. I heard that book is very good. They were talking about it on one of the podcasts I listen too. I need to get a hold of a copy.
Pukifeeeeeee! We've both been bitten by the bug. And yes, I think she does come with the freckles as far as I know.

I'm going to give it a try reading, too, just for fun. I mean, it can't hurt, right?

I know, I knew I was doomed with they first announced the PukiFee. I wanted one right away but I'm so glad I waited to be sure I'm getting what I really, really want. I also did more checking and I'm pretty sure the freckled face up is indeed default, so it's all good. I hope I can order by the end of next week, or the beginning of the week after. :D

Heh, the artwork on that one is hilarious. It looks like the regency lady on the front is embracing Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean. :P

I attempted to read P&P&Z and gave up. It was a bit too jerky for me going back and forth. I think that a movie, or graphic novel would have been a lot better medium for this kind of work. Being a Jane Austin lover, it was a bit harder to take for me.

Let me know what you think if you do end up reading it. I'm curious to see what your reaction will be.

Apparently they are making a movie or something. That sound be...interesting. :P I have a hold request for it at the library, that way if I hate it, it won't really matter. At least the back cover was amusing. But there are tons of requests for it ahead of me and not many copies available so it will probably be a while before I get it.
