Chapter 375: Query

*Taryn is walking on her way to work*

Ivy: Um…Taryn?
Taryn: Ivy?
Ivy: Yeah…can I…can I talk to you for a minute?
Taryn: Sure, of course.

Taryn: What’s up?
Ivy: I need to ask you something about Laszlo. It might seem nosy…but I have to know…to be sure.
Taryn: I won’t think you are nosy, what do you want to know?
Ivy: Does Laszlo…have a girlfriend?

Taryn: Oh…no…I mean he dated a few girls since you went away, but I honestly think he’s been waiting for you, without actually waiting...if you know what I mean.
Ivy: Oh…I thought maybe he had a girlfriend. He just seemed…not so happy to see me.
Taryn: He is happy to see you, I think he was just surprised…and a little distracted. It’s not you.

Ivy: I dated a little, too…but nobody measured up to Laszlo so it didn’t last and I was always looking forward to coming home and seeing him again. But…he’s not the same as I remember…
*Taryn frowns*
Ivy: I’m sorry! I know he’s your brother…

Taryn: No, it’s not that…he isn’t the same. I told him that myself not too long ago.
Ivy: What happened?
Taryn: He’s angry at Felix.
Ivy: Really? Why?
Taryn: Because of Madeline.

Ivy: But that…crazy! Madeline is adorable.
Taryn: Thank you, Madeline is my everything. Felix, too. But when I got pregnant with her, Felix and I weren’t married.
Ivy: Oh…
Taryn: And Laszlo decided to overplay the protective brother act and won’t let it go. Nothing Felix does is good enough even though he’s been nothing but wonderful to both me and Madeline.

Ivy: Laszlo’s still mad? After all these years? That’s dumb.
Taryn: Yeah…to be honest, I don’t know what to do about him.
Ivy: I’m happy for you and Felix. I mean, I know I wasn’t nice to you before…but I was being dumb myself…sorry about that.
Taryn: Hey, it’s okay.

Ivy: Thanks for talking to me…I won’t keep you.
Taryn: I’ve got to run to work, but I’ll talk to you anytime.
Ivy: Really?
Taryn: Yeah!
Ivy: Thanks.
Taryn: No problem.

*Taryn leaves and Ivy walks slowly, thinking about Laszlo*
Ivy: Hmmm…

Sabrina: Well, well, well…if it isn’t the wayward fashionista.
Ivy: *gasp*
Sabrina: And she looks all grown up.
Ronan: Yes, she does. *he smiles at Ivy*
Ivy: Sabrina! Ronan! It’s great to see you!
To be continued...
This is again another attempt to show that Ivy has indeed grown up a great deal. Before she left she would never seek out Taryn to talk, but now she has no problems with it. She is honestly happy for her and Felix. She's just trying to figure Laszlo out right now, but I think this conversation has really helped (Taryn doesn't mean to bad mouth Laszlo, and she's trying not to, she's just being as honest as she can). I liked having Sabrina and Ronan there at the end, they were Ivy's closest friends before. Sabrina calls Ivy a "fashionista" because, as you recall, Ivy works in fashion design.
Bonus photo of Ivy in her new dress:

I ordered this dress off Ebay and it came last week. The only thing I don't like about it is how incredibly sheer it is...it's very see-through. :P Fortunately in photos you can't tell...too much...
